Areas of PracticeFor more detailed information, please click on the title of the area of practice you are interested in. Admiralty & Maritime LawThe major emphasis of Mr. Henderson’s legal representation in this very specialized field of law concerns the representation of eleven major international corporations with corporate offices in the United Kingdom, Canada and the United States. Mr. Henderson’s representation of these clients centers around their involvement in civil engineering, construction, international sales and overseas shipping by sea vessels of construction equipment. Mr. Henderson is one of the few attorneys in Georgia with specialized expertise in admiralty and maritime law. He is exceptionally qualified to represent you in this specific area of the law. Mr. Henderson has extensive experience in cargo & bill of lading claims as well as in the representation of maritime clients in court, arbitration and mediation proceedings. Criminal DefenseMr. Henderson has provided diligent, honest, sympathetic and highly effective legal representation to clients (individuals and corporations) in various federal and state courts throughout the United States concerning very serious accusations of criminal wrongdoing. With his heartfelt belief that “there but for the Grace of God, go I” in one hand and law books in the other, he has tenuously fought for justice, (yes, and at times mercy), for those he has felt “called” to help. His sincerity, great zeal, keen knowledge of the relevant law, respect for jurors and the job they are called to do, as well as good ole country boy demeanor has made him an amazingly effective trial lawyer. After a recent murder trial a senior prosecutor described him as a “tiger in the courtroom”. His law office is filled with “thank you” cards and letters from those he has sincerely cared for and helped through an extremely painful time in their life.Entertainment LawThis is the “really fun” part of Mr. Henderson’s law practice. As with his other areas of specialty Mr. Henderson first became involved in this field by agreeing to undertake representation of a client with a serious dilemma. That entertainer led to others and so on and so on. Although he “can’t carry a tune in a suitcase” the talents of others who are highly gifted to compose song lyrics, sing vocals like an angel and play instrumental music “absolutely amaze” him. Mr. Henderson really enjoys the management and promotion of artists. Like his clients in the other areas of his law practice, he maintains the attitude that while he is their lawyer, he works for them. “My job is to advise, the client’s job is to decide” Henderson often has said. Mr. Henderson is highly protective of his entertainment clients in the sense that he seeks to protect them from being “picked apart like the big fish caught by Spencer Tracey in the old movie classic “the Old Man and The Sea.” Henderson likes to help the artist or the new label keep all they justly deserve, after all they are the talent, and they are the one with the “gift”. International Business LawThe development of and increase in the use of modern information technology for the conduct of international trade transactions has created many legal challenges. However, attorney Henderson and other lawyers in this field have the benefit of numerous legal treaties that allow for the application of a given set of guidelines to be applied to a variety of international business transactions, especially those involving contracts for the sale of goods. For instance, the world wide functional equivalent of the Uniform Commercial Code (“UCC”) in the United States is the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sales of Goods (“CISG”) or (“Convention”). The CISG is a treaty, ratified by many countries, that seeks to foster international trade and do so in a clear, concise manner. Through the application of the CISG and other relevant treaties the legal issues confronting the international business client are capable of resolution according to a more concrete set of rules. Personal Injury and Wrongful Death Law"Automobile accidents are the number one cause of death to people ages 18-44 in Europe and the United States” Henderson states. Mr. Henderson represents individuals and families involved in personal injury and wrongful death cases occasioned by the negligence, carelessness, and recklessness of others. Plaintiff personal injury and wrongful death cases can be difficult. Insurance companies want to limit their liability when a serious injury or death occurs. Insurance companies hire attorneys whose job it is to aggressively undermine the plaintiff's claim. Through over twenty years of experience, Mr. Henderson has become very familiar with their tactics in order to protect the rights, health, and safety of his clients.
